We are a dedicated coalition of environmental scientists, educators, community organizers, and policy experts united by a powerful mission: to safeguard Zanzibar’s natural ecosystems, fortify climate resilience, and uplift local communities through innovative, sustainable solutions.
Executive Director
Born and raised in Zanzibar, Fatma is a marine ecologist with over 15 years of experience in coastal conservation. Her leadership blends scientific expertise with cultural insight, ensuring every initiative respects local traditions while advancing global climate goals.
Co Founder
A former UNEP policy advisor and seasoned environmental economist, James steers our climate advocacy efforts. He works closely with government stakeholders to embed climate-smart policies into Zanzibar’s development framework.
Community Engagement Manager
Hajra brings a unique blend of sociology and public health to the table. She forges strong bonds with schools and villages, leading transformative grassroots programs in climate education and sustainable livelihoods.
Renewable Energy Specialist
A passionate solar engineer, Omar is at the forefront of Zanzibar’s clean energy transition. He spearheads solar installations in remote clinics, schools, and fishing communities—bringing light and opportunity where it’s needed most.
International Partnerships Coordinator

Marine Conservation Officer
A certified diver and coral reef advocate, Bakari leads our marine restoration efforts. Whether planting mangroves or monitoring reefs, he works hand-in-hand with local fishers and youth to protect Zanzibar’s blue heart.
